You are bidding on a 1991 Topps 1953 Topps Archive 90+ card lot. Billed as “The Ultimate 1953 Set,” this issue reproduced the original Topps set. The Archives issue downsized the cards from their original 2-5/8" x 3-3/4" size to the now-standard 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" format. More than 50 cards of players who were not included in the 1953 Topps set were created as part of the Archives issue. Topps chose to use black-and-white photos and colorized backgrounds for most of the “extended” cards, rather than paintings as on the originals. Thirteen of those cards are included in the lot. Only 18,000 cases were reportedly produced. Some of the HOFers & stars included in this lot are Enos Slaughter, Chuck Dressen, Pee Wee Reese, Johnny Mize, Joe Black, Johnny Antonelli, Phil Rizzuto, Sid Gordon, Johnny Sain, Dick Williams, Warren Spahn, Johnny, Johnny Logan, Gene Conley, Hal Newhouser (2), Johnny Podres (2) Bob Lemon, Hank Bauer, Gil Hodges, Leo Durocher (2), Duke Snider, Nellie Fox, Clem Labine, & Billy Goodman. The lot includes 21 duplicates. Cards will be mailed via USPS Ground Advantage on following work day after payment is received.
