These cards were inserted into 1989 Topps football card packs as bonus cards. Historical Significance of Al Toon in 1989 Al Toon was a standout wide receiver for the New York Jets during the 1980s. In 1988, he recorded 93 receptions for 1,067 yards, earning him a spot in the 1000 Yard Club. He was a three-time Pro Bowler (1986-1988) and was known for his sure hands and precise route running.
