Getting Paid

Sportlots sellers are paid once at the start of each month for orders that they have filled the previous month. Buyers pay Sportlots directly and Sportlots then pays each seller. Sportlots pays sellers in this manner for a number of reasons:

  • This way, the buyer only has to make one payment to Sportlots instead of having to provide payment to multiple sellers.

  • Buyers have higher trust because Sportlots, an intermediate in the transaction, can verify that payment was made and when it was received in the case of a check or money order payment. This provides Sportlots with the ability to track when payments arrived and when orders have been filled.

  • Sportlots subtracts fees from monthly payments each month instead of sending a separate bill to the sellers for fees.

  • Because Sportlots fees are based on monthly earnings for fixed priced sales, payment to the seller cannot accurately be determined until the end of the month.

  • Sellers realize a savings in Paypal transaction fees when a buyer purchases cards from multiple sellers within the same order. In this case, the 30 cent flat fee that Paypal charges is split up among all sellers involved with the transaction.

    My Credit Account

When selecting "Credit", Sportlots will put all the money earned that month into the selle'rs credit account. This money can be left in their account to be used for current unpaid order, future orders or it can be withdrawn at any time. Payment out of credit will be done periodically throughout the month.
